“IC PRECIPLAST” is a ready to use, polymer modified cement based plaster.
It is designed with unique reactive polymers and graded sand for straightening
of block and brick masonry, patchwork and repairs. “IC PRECIPLAST” is optimized
for mechanized as well as manual application of the plaster.
“IC PRECIPLAST” meets the requirements of ASTM C 926, EN 998-1,
GP-CS IV,BS 8481 (2006) and IS 1661 (1972).Conventional plaster methods
rely heavily on neat cement coat for bonding with substrates and curing
to develop strength in the long run. “IC PRECIPLAST”, a revolutionary
breakthrough of years of research, eliminates the requirement of tack
coat altogether, making plastering simpler and a one step process.

Method Of Application
- The substrate should be clean and free from loose particles,
dust, grease and any other foreign material that may affect adhesion.
- Concrete, screeds, block work should be sufficiently
cured to avoid shrinkage cracks.
- Any structural crack must be treated before commencement
of plastering work.
- At places where two different types of masonry substrates
meet, the joints must be reinforced with a suitable wire mesh.
- In case of dry and absorbent substrates, the surface
should be moistened with potable water. The substrate needs to be in SSD
(saturated but surface dry) condition during plastering.
- Prepare “IC PRECIPLAST” by thoroughly mixing 8-10 liters
(20-25%) of water per 40 kg bag.
- Use of mechanical mixer / electrical stirrer is highly
recommended for proper and thorough mixing to achieve optimum results.
- Initially, take 1.5-2 liters (15~20%) of the total
water requirement and add “IC PRECIPLAST” so that the material does not stick to
the pan. Gradually, add the rest of the water while mixing the material to prepare
a lump free paste.
- Use clean potable water to prepare the mix.
- Mixing should be done for 5-10 minutes depending on
the speed of the mixing equipment. Once mixed, allow the mix to stand for 5 minutes
and then mix again before applying.
- No further water should be added. Hard and set plaster
should not be mixed again.
- Correct ratio of water to “IC PRECIPLAST” is very
important for the desired application quality and output of plastering.
Method of application
- The “IC PRECIPLAST” mix should be applied within 1-2
hours of mixing, depending upon the environmental conditions.
- The application of “IC PRECIPLAST” can be done manually
or through a spray machine.
- Load the material with the help of a plastering trowel/
spatula to build a thickness of up to 12mm on a pre wetted masonry unit.
- Allow the plaster to dry to an extent where it
can be smothered with the help of a wooden or an aluminum float.
- Patch the spots of depression to bring the surface to
level and re float the plaster to make the entire area uniform.
- “IC PRECIPLAST” can be applied in a coat of thickness
up to 10~12 mm in one go.
- Plumb should be checked regularly to ensure vertical
correctness of the masonry unit.
- Remove excess material immediately. Follow this process
during the entire process of masonry work.
- For application by machine, adjust the consistency as
appropriate (within the given range of water-powder ratio) to allow the material to
pass through the spray hose.
- The thickness should be just enough to prevent sag.
- Subsequent coats can be applied if needed, to increase the
thickness of the initial coat once dry.
- “IC PRECIPLAST” should be protected from direct exposure
to sunlight, wind and rain during application.
- For application on smooth and dense concrete surfaces,
it is recommended to make the surface rough and wet it with cement slurry
(Cement: Water Ratio – 1:1) or apply a thin dash coat to provide a better key
for the plaster coat.
No water curing is needed within the first 24 hours of application in normal weather
conditions. Once the plaster is dry, it should be cured with water spray twicea day for
2-3 days. However, for conditionsother than normal, curing with water spray needs to be
done for 5-7 days for proper hydration.
- Coverage is based on the smoothness and evenness of the
substrate. Typically, coverage of “IC PRECIPLAST”,when used with 20~25% water for a
10~12mm thick application is 0.19-0.22 Kg per Sq Ft/mm on the masonry surface.
- However, coverage will depend on the application and
Precautions during Usage
- Selection of masonry units is very critical as poor
quality bricks may lead to efflorescence which will leach out of the plaster.
- Hard/salty water is not recommended to be mixed with
“IC PRECIPLAST” as it may deteriorate the performance of plaster.
- Though “IC PRECIPLAST” contains no toxic material,
care should be taken to avoid dust inhalation while mixing and handling. In case
of contact with eyes or face, wash with plenty of clean water. Persons who are
allergic to cement should take proper precautions before use.
Storage & Shelf Life
- Store in a cool and dry place. Ensure that the bags do
not burst or tear while handling. Hooks should not be used during handling. There
should be a gap of 0.5 metre between the walls and the stacks.
- “IC PRECIPLAST” will remain usable for a period of
six months from the date of manufacture, when stored as per the standard recommended
